I too am deeply upset about this story and am determined to make a difference. I have contacted Oprah, Bill O'Reilly, Greta on FOX News, Geraldo Rivera and others to get more exposure which I hope will bring more donations and the best eye specialists to little Angelo. I am also in the process of contacting a state of the art eye surgeon that was able to regain sight in a 50 year old man that had been blind for 45 years.
I think about little Angelo daily and have shifted from despair to determination to get the word out and bring specialist attention to him. He's such a beautiful boy!!
After web research I was able to contact Angelo's aunt, and a trust is currently being created by Jesse Rosas, the boy's uncle. Once I have the information I will share here.
Please also note that once the condition of the remaining eye is disclosed, we as the general republic will be able to know more about a possible eye transplant. As long as the back of the eye globe is intact and the optical nerve is undamaged there is hope that he could regain vision in his remaining eye with a transplant. The eye the father fully removed can only be replaced with a glass eye since the optical nerve has millions of complex connections to the brain that can not be medically reattached.
There is another website called imforeverchanged.com that is managed by friends of Jesse Rosas. Jesse has also filed with the state to try and get custody of little Angelo. He has a clean record and from what I have learned by talking to his wife, they are committed to improving Angelo Jr's quality of life and will pursue all medical treatments possible. I just spoke with his wife last week and beyond that have no other connection to the family and I live in Chicago so I am not local to Bakersfield.
Together I pray we can make a difference
