I'm starting the process of contacting the researchers mentioned in this article: http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/10.09/vision.html

I will post what I learn here. If you know of any useful information related to schools for the blind, or artificial vision, please post it here.

I just wonder if there is any way of saving the boy's existing eye. It seems like he should be seeing specialists immediately. I wonder if anyone has any ideas for contacting university medical schools (e.g., USC, where this artificial system is being developed) to see what might be available. Of course, since he is currently in CPS custody, it is impossible to know what's going on, but I don't necessarily trust them to make the best decisions.
It would seem the best way to accomplish anything is to hope for national coverage (Oprah, etc.) and keep trying to contact them. Senator Dean Florez was also calling for more info from CPS, but his Web site only accepts constituent emails, so mine didn't go through. It would be good for any Bakersfield people to email and keep him on the case. Hopefully any publicity this gets will ensure the boy gets the absolute best treatment possible and doesn't fall back into the cracks of "the system."

I agree with you and have also been writing Oprah, Ellen, Dr. Phil and many more in hopes this gets out to everyone. I truly hope that the care he is under now they are trying everything possible to get his eye sight back and making sure he goes to the right family!

Does "Linda" have contact information for Dr. Daniel Goodman?

Greg mentioned that Linda (who also posts on this site) may have contact information for a Dr. Daniel Goodman - an opthamalogist in San Francisco.

Linda, if you're reading this, do you mind posting the contact information for Dr. Goodman? If possible, I'd like to do what I can to try and get this info to the lawyers representing Baby Angelo. Perhaps, in turn, this info will get into the right hands and someone making decisions about his medical care can consider the services offered by Dr. Goodman. Got my fingers crossed… Thank you.

Hi Mari. You have such a wonderful heart. I have loved seeing others be so touched by Angelo's story and continue efforts for him. Dr Goodman's information is in Angelo's aunt's hands.

I saw a news article today about a blind man who was able to recover eye sight after an accident left him blind 10 years ago.
